Mammoth Hike May 2017

Such a fun trip hiking up this trail and that trail, all the way down the mountain, and that time we saw deer and were cold at night! 😉

Check out my latest adventures on Instagram!

As I have gotten older, I have developed a fear of heights. Along with that, suspension bridges. I think they are super cool and an engineering feat of amazement, but not a fan of walking across them. We came across this one and I was first to go across. All was fine till it started moving. I couldn’t see Gannon and thought he was behind me making it sway, so he got blamed (as usual). He was not and it was just swaying because of me. Play with sound on if you want to hear narration and Gannon getting in trouble. Lol

Approx 1030 ft of elevation gain. Mainly forest service road with some single track and a few bridges thrown in…including a suspension one. I’ll post that video separate. This trail can be exposed, but did have some nice foliage for shade when needed. The trail goes parallel to the highway and river. Sometimes right along and other times, away from the freeway and above the river. Freeway noise was not bothersome. Wildflowers are currently blooming. 😃 Good for hiking, Mtn biking, and equestrian use. Really enjoyed it! Can’t wait to do the other half of this section. Took a beautiful bike ride today along the Truckee River Legacy Trail, which is also part of the Tahoe Pyramid Trail. Perfect weather and scenery. Ended at Fiftyfifty Brewing Co for burgers and beer. Soo happy the cold weather has left and we can get outside! 🚴🏔😎🍻 When we got rid of everything from our house to live full-time in a RV, it obviously did not include my backpacking gear. 🤣 Excited to go through it all and get ready for some trips this summer! 🥾⛰ Had a great time today out on the Rzr’s. We even got to see a bear!! 🐻 Snow is almost gone in our area. And the Maszkcot’s enjoyed the wildflowers that have started to bloom. 🌸🌻🌼 Pulled out my #excaliburdehydrator today. Limited on space, so under the dinette it goes. 😃 Saw these last night on our walk. At first, we thought they could be really big centipedes. But upon closer inspection, someone had a really good meal out of a snake! 🐍 Buuurrrrr….might have miscalculated when to leave AZ. 🥶🥶😂😂❄️❄️🌨🌨
